repost for re-edit Michigan Central Station | Detroit, MI 3,500,000 square feet, designed by Albert Kahn, first use of reinforced concrete for industrial construction in Detroit, opened in 1907, closed in 1958. It is currently home to one functioning business and a few residents in one of the buildings, but is mostly a "playground" for graffiti artists, photographers, explorers, ruin "tourists", and car thieves if you aren't careful...

<a href="http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120302/BIZ/203020372" rel="nofollow">Plans for demolition</a> were recently announced, but then again <a href="http://www.freep.com/article/20120302/NEWS01/120302053/packard-plant-city-of-detroit-demolition" rel="nofollow">maybe not</a> for awhile...Either way, the building is practically demolishing itself along with the help of scrappers.
